ART MANAGEMENT BERLIN presents
Frank Boogaard – sculpture, Netherlands
My ideal is to act in supreme concentration and silence, to create the form that fits like a glove with the emotion, that caused the form.
Emotions, which I cannot express in words – but I show them by giving them a shape.
As a choreographer I shape the sound of my emotions.
A world of form that I feel all around me, like the movement of a silk scarf that follows a dancer.
Uniquely cast, patinated or partly polished, in this way I give shine to my unique feelings.

About his work
A good abstract bronze statue leaves your gaze caressing the sleek abstract shapes, dreaming away in thoughts, on the association it gives you. Purely enjoy the simplicity, the shape and appearance. An abstract work must be able to be seen from every side. Each side can tell its own story. All sides together when you have walked around the entire statue should fascinate, captivate and appeal. The surprise, the contrast and the harmony between them make an abstract image so fascinating. As an artist I work exclusively in unique pieces. If I were to make eight casts of each wax model, I would be working on one sculpture for a longer period of time. During that time I do work and cannot enrich my world of form. My growing oeuvre and the development of my design language are my richness. Seeing the shiny polished bronze statues created under my hands is my feeling of happiness.
